My name is Lee Fang. I’m an investigative researcher and reporter.
My reporting has led to calls for several investigations in Congress, and I have contributed to the Boston Globe, The Nation, and appeared on programs like al Jazeera’s People and Power and the Thom Hartmann Show. My original reporting has been picked up and covered by the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Drudge Report, and other major outlets. From 2009 until 2011, I served as a blogger for ThinkProgress.org.
I named this blog The Second Alarm after a Revolutionary War newsletter that led to the Boston Tea Party. Called “The Alarm,” the pamphlet warned colonists that the British and the East India Trading Company would ruin America by sucking the wealth from its citizens and ruling over us in the pursuit of profit. I think a similar dynamic exists today, but instead of the East India Trading Company, lobbying groups like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and multinational banks like J.P. Morgan Chase pose an existential threat to America’s democracy, and to our greatness as a nation.
This blog is also just an outlet for me to continue reporting on topics that interest me.

Would be interested in your content but your font is unreadable.
I look forward to reading your posts.
Hey, what’s wrong with the font? I just updated the blog last night with a new layout scheme, so please let me know if its not working for anyone..
Love the content, but agree that the font makes it a bit difficult to read. The font appears to be too thin. Please consider using a font that has a consistent weight.
I have been to your Website Using Safari, Firefox and Chrome and it all looks good to me. I am using a Mac computer.
Kept up the good work your articles are very well written and I enjoy your insight.
I just read some of your articles and your work is great. It’s just an added bonus that you’re incredibly attractive; the picture icon in the margins keeps me on the page even after I’ve read them.
In a world where mainstream media is owned by the minority and a PR agency to the global elite, free, independent journalism is the only hope we have of ever knowing what’s going on in the world. Keep up the good work Lee!
I agree with commenters about the font – it’s wierdly pixellated. Better to go with a more standard font that’s optimized for screen viewing.
Also agree with commenter Dustin.
The problem is Windows. The text is jagged and pixelated in Windows.
Mac looks fine.
Who could have guessed?
So when is Current going to offer you your own show? You’ve done a lot of work already and you look good on tv. So what’s the hold up?
I like this place Surprised and happy to get in on the ground floor. Can’t have too many investigative reporters. I use Windows and print seems okay today. I have a big interest in Luntz and that’s how I got here.
